Time to Sharpen Your Skates!

With cold weather on the way, its time to sharpen your skates - and your skating skills.

Two of our favorite outdoor rinks on Boston Harbor - the Rotunda Rink at Rowes Wharf and the Skating at Snowport in the Seaport- are closed for now because of the pandemic, though there's still plenty to do, including curling lessons .

However, the skating rink at the Frog Pond on Boston Common is open and DCR's Steriti Memorial Rink in the North End and the Porrazzo Memorial Rink in East Boston are both open to the public. Check their websites for hours of operation.

One of the best way's to get to know your way around Boston Harbor is from the top of a tall building near the water's edge.

You might also enjoy the extensive selection of antique maps of Boston Harbor from as far back as 1651 from the Norman B. Leventhal collection on view at the Boston Harbor Hotel .
